The Assistant Director – Education and Business Specialist will be a part of a 3-person administrative team leading the school. S/he will interact with families, manage and monitor the childcare software system including tuition and billing, child files, and more. S/he will observe teachers & give feedback, ensure classrooms remain compliant with sanitation/licensing rules, ITERS & ECERS standards and NAEYC expectations. S/he supports and guides teachers with developmentally appropriate lesson planning, observation & assessments, and classroom management skills.

Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to think quickly are required.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Early Childhood Education
  • Strong knowledge of Creative Curriculum or project-based learning preferred
  • Experience working in licensed childcare center (5 year minimum) – understanding of ALL age groups birth-5
  • Positive attitude
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organization skills & ability to be a “self-starter”
  • Current criminal background check with DCDEE
